At KVH Hospital, we believe each birth is a unique and personal experience. With a highly skilled team of physicians, nurses, and other health professionals, the Family Birthing Center provides a safe, comfortable, family-centered maternity care environment.
Our birthing center combines a relaxed home birthing atmosphere with the security of being in the hospital. Special Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP) suites are designed for the comfort of new moms and their families. These suites allow moms to remain in the same room throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
Suites are private and include a relaxing whirlpool tub, birthing bed, rocking chair, TV, CD player, and a convenient sleeper sofa for an overnight guest. All the necessary medical equipment to safely care for mom and baby are built into cabinets and can be accessed as needed during the birthing process.
Should you need specialized care, we have a designated surgical suite that is equipped for Cesarean births. However, should you or your baby need specialized care you may be transferred to another hospital that specializes in high-risk obstetrical or newborn care.
